REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN FOR TEE TIMES!

 

Welcome to the 2022 season. We expect to have a full field of approximately 160 golfers for Wednesday, April 13th at the Home Course in Dupont, WA. Tee times will start on Hole # 1 at 7:00 am with 10minute intervals. Be sure to check your scorecard and tee sheet to verify your tee time. 

 

We will have 3 FLIGHTS based on handicaps and four KPs with prizes (TBD) provided by The Home Course.

 

The format will be a 2 Person Best Ball, with Players playing either from the WHITE TEES or GOLD TEES based on their handicap, age, and gender. Note Playing partners may be teeing from different tees.

 

We will be playing modified WINTER RULES, allowing the player to move his/her ball six inches (6") in the shorter mowed grasses EX: fairways & around the greens. The rough and all other areas will be played down with no moving the ball. If you are in the bunker, you may rake, and place your ball near its original location.

 

This year, for the enjoyment of all, we will be putting an emphasis on pace of play. To that end a handout will be given to each foursome with some guidelines and rules to aide all participants with this goal. We would urge you to take the time to familiarize yourself with these and use them to your advantage.

 

THIS IS IMPORTANT: Please record your gross score. If you fail to complete a hole for pace of play consideration, it should be recorded as an "X", AND NO score should be posted/listed on the scorecard. Golf Genius will calculate your correct adjusted score for posting to GHIN. NOTE: At least one partner MUST hole out for a score. If you and your partner both "X" on the same hole, then your team will be DISQUALIFIED.

  

The golf rate of $50 includes the cart. The walking rate will be $40. A range token will be included. No trail fee for private carts.

 

No more than 2 golf carts per foursome.

 

 The restaurant will be open at 11am and the walkup window will open at 7am, there will be a refreshment cart person throughout the day.

 

THE MWSGA/Golf Genius will record/post your scores in GHIN after the event.

Canterwood is a very popular tournament and we expect to fill all available tee times with members, so no guests are allowed for this tournament.

 

Carts are in short supply so we are splitting the tee times into three blocks. 

 

Block 1 starts at 8:00 AM to 11:10 AM

Block 2 starts at 11:20 AM  ******  WALKERS ONLY!!  NO CARTS AVAILABLE *****

Block 3 starts at 1:00 PM Carts from the first block should be coming off the course by this time.

The SNACK BAR will be OPEN, but NOT the restaurant.

No Beverage Cart.

 

The rates will $62 with cart, and $50 for walkers.

Golf Range included.

At this time, NO prizes will be given for KP's, however, we will acknowledge the golfer for his/her accomplishment on the RESULTS.

 

The tees will be WHITE (5,967 yds), and GREEN (5,587 yds), and CANTERWOOD (5,374 yds)

Riding is $48, walking is $32.

Range balls provided. Grass range.

Each KP prize is two rounds with cart.

Refreshment shack between holes #9 and #10.

Don't forget the $10 cash entry ($20 for Guests).

Please repair ball marks on the greens.

Take note of the Pace of Play recommendations at the sign up station and on the course.

 

We are playing the White tees as the Back Tee and the Gold tees and the Forward Tee.

The walking rate will be $45; with cart will be $55; there will be a $10 trail if you bring your own cart; and, range balls will cost $3.75.  We will start at 9 minute intervals and there will be a 1 1/2 hour break between 11:15 & 12:45.  Alderbrook has only 40 carts so as the carts come in they will have to prepare them in for the later pairings.  The restaurant will be open from 10a-4p for sandwiches, drinks, etc. (No breakfast due to staffing issues).  There will be 4 KP prizes consisting of 2 rounds with cart each.  The course will provide a marshall who will 'encourage' you to stay up with the group ahead of you, so PLEASE have fun, but be efficient.  We're looking forward to seeing you at Alderbrook and hope you bring good weather with you!

Sign-ups for the Gold Mountain – OLYMPIC COURSE - 2 Person BEST BALL will open this coming SUNDAY, May 8, at noon.

 

The Olympic Course has hosted two USGA National Championships (2006 Public Links, 2011 Junior Amateur) and numerous college tournaments and invitationals. Just this past week it hosted a U.S. Open qualifying round, followed by the 3-day Mountain West Conference Men’s Golf Championship.

 

Our tournament will be Wednesday, May 18, 2022.

 

The field will be open to 160 players  (40 tee times), starting at 7:00 am with 9 minute intervals. You will be able to sign up your playing partner or one guest (using the “GUEST” placeholder option). As always, you can also use the “HOLD” or “NEED” functions to reserve the tee slot next to yours if you need a partner or are working on finding one yourself, respectively..

 

2 golf carts per foursome will be available.

 

The green fees will be $60/w cart, and will include one token for range balls. There will be no discount if you choose to walk the course.

 

There will be a KP for each flight and one KP for the entire field.

 

Flights I and II will be playing from the White (“Player”) tees. Flight III will be playing from the Yellow (“Scoring”) tees.

 

Pace of Play expectation is 4.5 hours. That is an average of 15 minutes per hole, or four holes per hour. While there will be course marshals to monitor the pace of play and keep the field moving, it is also each golfer’s individual responsibility to play ready golf and keep your group moving along in a timely fashion. As the saying goes, your position should be directly behind the group in front of you, not directly in front of the group behind you!

 

The restaurant will be opening at 6:00 a.m. for our event.

Capitol City Scramble - 8 June 2022

 

We are expecting a large turnout, pace of play is critical!

Last year we had 170 golfers and slow play was a very big problem.

 

Keep up with the group in front of you
Your correct position on the course is immediately behind the group in front of you, not immediately in front of the group behind you. 

 

Be efficient on the putting green

If you did not submit your name for early vetting to obtain a JBLM McChord base pass, you will need to stop at the JBLM McChord Visitor's Center.  You should bring your Driver's License, registration and insurance.  This may take a little time depending on the activity of other customers at the desk.  You should plan your time accordingly.

 

Also, depending on your tee time, accessing the gate may take a little time with base workers entering the gate as well.  You should plan your time accordingly.  

 

 

 

 

 

The event at McCormick Woods is a 2-Person Best Ball on Wednesday July 27th.

We will be playing SUMMER RULES. Ball must be played as is, and all USGA golf rules apply.

 

There are 56 carts available, so we do encourage golfers to walk, if they can.

 

The first Tee Time is at 7:30 AM with 10 Minute Intervals

 

 

The Back Tee is GREEN at 5,758 yds

The Forward Tee is GREEN at 5,758 yds

NOTE: For this event, after review of the McCormick Woods scorecard, the decision was made by the tournament chair that All players will play from the "GREEN TEES" from all flights, no exceptions.

The RED TEES at 5,260 yds were too short, and the WHITE TEEs were too long at 6,165 yds.

The yardages for all the holes from the Green Tees at McCormick Woods are fair for all golfers in all flights. Your GHIN HANDICAP will be calculated from the GREEN TEES.

Range Balls are not included, and will cost $5 for a small bucket

Sign up closes on August 1st at 10:00am. Walking is $33, riding is $50. Range balls are $5 for a small and $7 for a large. First tee time is 7:30am at 10 minute intervals. KP prizes are 2 rounds plus cart for each prize. Back tees are white and forward tees are green. Course is being set up for Lewis County Amateur so it's in great condition and greens are fast. See you there!

This was done because we do not expect a huge turnout. As of now our estimate is sixty golfers.

We are allowing Guests but they will be signed up in our usual fashion.

 

They have fifty golf carts, which should be enough, but we encourage walkers!

 

For anyone wanting to travel the day before there are several hotels/motels in Sequim with prices ranging from $90 to as much as you want to pay.

This Scramble will be followed immediately by our Annual Meeting. If you do not play the Scramble we encourage you to attend the meeting.

We expect the meeting to start at approximately 1:30 PM

 

This is a 4-Person Scramble with random A-B-C-D foursomes. The registered players will be grouped according to handicap with the top quarter designated as A-Players, the second as B-Players, the third as C-Players, and the fourth as D-Players. You will not be able to select your team.

 

We will be playing from the Gold Tees.

 

No guests will be allowed.

 

It will be an 8:30 Shotgun start. hole assignments will be 1,18,17,16,15,14,13,12,11, 10, and 9.

 

The honey pot will be paid out in cash at the end of the annual meeting that will be held at the end of the tournament.

 

With a full field (80) the Team-Payouts will be as follows:

 

• 1st Plane NET $300
• 2nd Place NET $200
• 3rd Place NET $100 

 

• Via random draw one person will receive the Grand Prize of $200

The course has a new driving range with floating balls, using the water feature off the first fairway of Generation I. We will be getting a discounted range ball rate of $4 for a Small bucket and $8 for a Medium bucket.

 

The course is donating 4 KP prizes of a round for 2 with cart.

 

The food/snack bar located in the pro shop will be open at 6:45, and there will be a beverage cart circulating during our rounds.
